Overview
Crane hire across Stoke-on-Trent
We provide crane hire and contract lifting across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, for loads from 20kg up to 1,000 tonnes.
Kilns, presses and process plant go in and out of old works buildings here, and getting the load out can be harder than lifting it. Send us the job and we will plan both.
Where do we work?
Every ST postcode, the rest of Staffordshire, and anywhere else in the UK.
What can we send?
All-terrain mobile cranes for heavy plant, city cranes and light truck cranes for works yards, and our electric pick and carry cranes inside buildings.
Never planned a lift?
Then it is a contract lift. We survey, plan and supervise it, fully insured.
Pricing a job?
Send the weight, the reach and photos for a desktop quote, normally back the same day.

What we plan for
The way in
Junctions 15 and 16 of the M6 serve the city, with the A500 through the middle and the A50 east. Big cranes are routed round low bridges and weight limits.
Old works buildings
Low headroom, narrow openings and floors of unknown capacity are common, so the route out is planned with the lift.
Made ground
Much of the city stands on old colliery, marl and pottery waste ground. We check the bearing and plan the outriggers, with mats where needed.
Shutdown windows
Kiln and line work is planned back from a fixed shutdown with a hard finish time, often out of hours.
Questions
Common questions
Can you get a kiln section out of an old works?
The route out decides the job. Skates or jacking inside and the crane in the yard is the usual answer. Send photos of the opening.
Is made ground a problem for set-up?
It can be, so we check. Old colliery and pottery waste ground changes what the ground carries, and we use mats where the bearing is marginal.
Can you work through a shutdown?
Yes. Give us the window and the lift details and we plan the crane, the route and the set-up to fit it.
What size crane will I need?
That depends on the weight at radius, the distance from the crane’s centre to the landing point, with the hook block and slings added.
